Emiliano Mondragon was born in 1996 in Mexico City, where he currently resides. He is a contemporary painter best known for his mixed media paintings on canvas. Mondragon’s work is characterized by his unique approach of assembling multiple images, stains, and strokes to create collage-like compositions with significant depth, resulting in captivating and thought-provoking artworks.
Mondragon’s artistic practice is characterized by the use of found images, extracted from their original context, yet possessing a unique meaning on their own. His paintings evoke a sense of narrative ambiguity while inviting viewers to contemplate the intersection of visual fragments and abstract forms. One of his notable projects, “If I Could Put It on Words” (2020-2022), exemplifies Mondragon’s fascination with poetry and its influence on his visual language.
